Growing Tomatoes Empty

Because we had an early spring this year, I got a jump on my neighbors and seeded my tomatoes in February. I put them out in early April and in early May, they were ready to be suckered and trained (I grow them vertically on cords this year). Some of those suckers (no pun intended) were already about 20cm long and as big around as my little finger. I put them into a glass jar with water and in a week they had rooted..viola! more plants to give to my friends!
